“Nature Near You” is an opportunity to explore the beautiful outdoor spaces that we can find near our homes, without the need to embark on a long journey. Through this exciting online activity I will take you on a hike through the mountains that I call my backyard. You will be joining students from Santa Barbara and Goleta and even from Costa Rica! As we hike, we will stop and observe nature together.
What will we observe during these hikes?
Ocean views of the Channel Islands, mountain ranges in Ojai, blooms of many colors, and all sorts of plants that are specific to this part of California. We will also be on the lookout for birds, rabbits, and deers!
If any students want to share her/his/their own backyard, we will also have time for this.
